Artist Talk (as part of South Granville Art Walk):

Combining art-historical and well-known mythological motifs with self-reflective imagery Hung’s fantastical oil paintings toy with modern myth-making. The artist, herself often portrayed in obvious disguise, interacts with characters and symbols pulled from mythological storylines and personal memory. By interweaving personal reflection with archetypal symbolism, Of Myth and Men considers the parallels of modern personal storytelling and the grand mythologies of the Ancients.
Roselina Hung (b. 1980, Vancouver, BC) lives and works in Vancouver. She received her MA Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London, UK and her BFA from the University of British Columbia.
